WE WOULD LIKE TO AGAIN WELCOME AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE ESTEEMED STATE LEGISLATORS FROM LD 16, OUR SENATOR ANDREW ZWICKER, AND HONORABLE ASSEMBLYMAN ROY FREIMAN.AND THIS IS, AGAIN, TO BE LOCATED IN THE SOUTH COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS GARAGE IN HILLSBOROUGH.
WE ARE THANKFUL TO YOU FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN AND HEARING OUR REQUESTS AND ADVOCATING FOR US.
[00:05:07]
YOU AS OUR DELEGATION, NOT ONLY FOR THE WORK THAT YOU'VE DONE FOR THE COMMUNITY OF SOMERSET COUNTY, BUT SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS PROJECT, BUT ALSO FOR MORE THAN $20 MILLION.HIGH SCHOOL. $4 MILLION IN THE HAMILTON BRIDGE ROAD BRIDGE OVER THE CONRAIL TRACKS IN HILLSBOROUGH.
$3 MILLION FOR PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS NEAR MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL CENTER AND COUNTY LIBRARY.
AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING WHAT ELSE SOMERSET COUNTY WOULD BE ABLE TO TO GAIN AS YOU ADVOCATE FOR OUR RESIDENTS.
THANK YOU FOR THE VERY KIND WORDS.
BUT TODAY REALLY JUST MARKS A PIECE OF A COLLABORATION BETWEEN COUNTY AND STATE GOVERNMENT.
GOING BACK NOW FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, WE'VE HAD DISCUSSIONS AMONG EVERYONE WHO'S HERE ON THE DAIS RIGHT NOW, MYSELF, ASSEMBLYMAN FREIMAN AND SO MANY OTHERS ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO TO BEST SERVE THE NEEDS OF THE COUNTY.
THIS MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING IS ONE EXAMPLE, AND I THINK THE KEY HERE IS THAT IT'S MULTI-PURPOSE.
AND DIRECTOR, YOU LISTED SOME OF THE VERY IMPORTANT REASONS FOR IT, BUT THIS IN THE END IS SAYING LET'S MAKE SURE THE STATE AND THE COUNTY CAN COME TOGETHER, MAKE AN IMPROVEMENT.
SO VERY GRATEFUL TO TURN IT OVER TO MY COLLEAGUE, ASSEMBLYMAN ROY FREIMAN.
SO I'M HERE TO ACTUALLY THANK YOU.
SO INSTEAD OF YOU THANKING US FOR FOR FOR BRINGING THE RESOURCES TO THE COUNTY, I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THE WORK YOU'RE DOING THAT YOU CONTINUE TO DO AND FOR LOOKING OUT FOR ALL THE RESIDENTS, FOR THE COUNTY OF WHICH I AM ONE.
FOR THINKING AHEAD, FOR YOUR VISION, FOR ASKING FOR THINGS SUCH FOR THIS MULTI PURPOSE BUILDING, FOR THE FUNDING, WHICH IS NOT THE MOST GLAMOROUS THING, BUT INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT FOR SAFEGUARDING THE RESIDENTS AND FOR THINKING ABOUT ALL THESE PROJECTS AHEAD.
IT'S BECAUSE OF THAT, THAT YOU'RE PROTECTING US, THAT YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT OUR FUTURE.
WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING IN THIS PARTNERSHIP.
SO, COMMISSIONERS, LET'S LET'S GO DOWN AND ACCEPT THE CHECK [APPLAUSE].
SO WHILE YOU'RE DOING THAT I'M JUST GOING TO EMBARRASS ASSEMBLYMAN FREIMAN.
AND KNOWING THE ASSEMBLYMAN CARES ABOUT THINGS LIKE THAT.
WHICH, YOU KNOW, WILL BE HERE LONG AFTER THAN ALL OF US.
SO FOR THAT, THANK YOU, SIR THANK YOU.

WHEREAS THIS YEAR, APPROXIMATELY 288,300 MEN WILL BE DIAGNOSED WITH PROSTATE CANCER IN THE UNITED STATES ALONE, ONE MAN EVERY TWO MINUTES, ABOUT 3,500 MORE THAN 2020, WHICH WAS ONE MAN EVERY 15 MINUTES AND ROUGHLY 34,700 WILL DIE FROM THE DISEASE.
AND WHEREAS, IN NEW JERSEY, AN ESTIMATED 9,460 NEW CASES WILL BE DIAGNOSED IN AN ESTIMATED 300 AND 730 DEATHS WILL OCCUR IN 2023.
